This site — drivingtestscanada.com — is operated by Movil Softwares. This policy covers the website only. The iOS and Android apps have their own policies, linked from their store listings.
When you first load the site we set a cookie called dt_uid. It holds a random number that we generate, signed so it cannot be tampered with. That number is how we know which browser has paid for which province — it is the only way to sell you something without making you create an account.
It contains no name, no email address and nothing derived from you. It lasts about 13 months. This cookie is strictly necessary for the site to work, so it is not covered by the analytics choice below; without it, a purchase could not be remembered.
If you choose Allow on the banner, we load Google Analytics 4, which sets its own cookies (_ga and similar) and records which pages you visit, which tests you start and finish, whether you saw the paywall, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device and browser type. We use it to see which provinces and which questions people actually use, so we know what to improve.
If you choose Decline, Google’s script is never requested. Not loaded and blocked — never fetched. No cookie is set and no data about your visit reaches Google, not even an anonymous signal. You can change your mind at any time, at the bottom of this page.
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe’s own checkout page and never touch our servers — we could not see them if we wanted to.
What we store after a successful payment:
Clearing your cookies loses the random number that identifies your purchase, so we email you a link to get it back. To do that we hold your address alongside a single-use token that expires in 20 minutes, and we delete the token the moment it is used. We also keep a counter to stop the form being abused; it is keyed to a one-way hash of the address, not the address itself.
The form gives the same answer whether or not the address has a subscription, so nobody can use it to find out who our customers are.
Your analytics choice, your preferred reading text size, and whether you dismissed the app banner are kept in your browser’s local storage. They never reach us. Clearing your browsing data removes them.
Our hosting provider records standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. These are not linked to purchases or analytics.

dt_consent | Local storage | Remembers your analytics choice | Until you clear it |

dt_app_banner_dismissed | Local storage | Stops re-showing the app banner | Until you clear it |
In the United States. The site runs on Google Cloud Run in Iowa, and the database is Google Cloud Firestore in a United States multi-region. Stripe, Google Analytics and our email provider also process data in the United States.
This means your information is subject to United States law, including lawful access requests by United States authorities, regardless of where you live. If you would rather that did not happen, decline analytics and do not buy a subscription — the free practice tests and the handbook need nothing beyond the essential cookie.
We do not sell personal information, and we never have. We use these processors:
We will also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see what we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, withdraw consent, or complain to a regulator. That includes rights under Canada’s PIPEDA, Quebec’s Law 25, the GDPR if you are in the EU or UK, and the CCPA if you are in California.
Because we hold no name and no account, the practical way to identify your records is the email address used at checkout. Write to support@drivingtestapp.com and we will respond within 30 days. Deleting a purchase record ends the access it grants — we will say so before doing it.
In Canada you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and in Quebec to the Commission d’accès à l’information.
This is a study aid for a learner’s licence, so some visitors will be under the age of majority. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will remove it.
You can change it here at any time. It applies to this browser.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be announced on the site.
